Autism spectrum disorders
Autism spectrum disorders can affect how people relate to and communicate with others. People with an autism spectrum disorder usually experience problems in three main areas: communication, social interaction and imagination.
Experts believe a number of physical factors may result in the development of autism spectrum disorders, but this is not fully understood. Autism spectrum disorders are NOT the result of emotional or physical deprivation as is/was commonly believed. These disorders relate to how the brain is hardwired. For this reason, there is no cure, but it is possible to help those with these disorders become more able to cope with life.
