
John's way of working
As a person-centred practitioner, John believes that clients benefit most from a strong, collaborative therapeutic relationship built on trust, empathy and respect. Pluralistically trained, he is committed to valuing difference and will work with each client to find an approach that meets their individual needs, preferences and goals. Where helpful, John thoughtfully integrates elements from a range of therapeutic models, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and psychotherapy, to support and empower his clients.
John's background and experience
John has extensive experience as a psychotherapist in both the public and private sectors, working with children and adults with diverse psychological needs. He has managed multiple mental health services, including programmes supporting children with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
John holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Pluralistic Counselling & Psychotherapy from Abertay University, in addition to an MA in Counselling, Philosophy and Education from the University of Aberdeen.
John is a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
