Dr Krista Rajkarnikar is an experienced senior counselling psychologist who works online with individual adults, couples, children and young people and adult families with a wide range of issues and problems including: anxiety; depression/low mood; stress; autism spectrum disorder; bereavement/grief; chronic illness; eating and body image issues; gender and sexual identity; habitual behaviours; life transitions; obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD); post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD); relaxation; and many other issues.

Krista has particular experience of working with depression, anxiety, interpersonal relationship difficulties, cultural difficulties, social anxiety, health related stress, trauma, abuse, learning difficulties such as autism, various phobias and bereavement. In addition, she has worked with a significant number of clients with trauma and loss issues (including loss of livelihood, family members, functions and disabilities) resulting from natural disaster. 
 

Krista's way of working

Krista is a compassionate practitioner who has significant experience of working therapeutically with clients. She believes that different psychological approaches work for different people and different difficulties and she therefore tailors her approach to suit the unique needs and preferences of each individual. Krista uses a variety of approaches in her work including counselling, person-centred therapy; cognitive-behaviour therapy (CBT); Emotion Focused Therapy and assimilative practice.

As well as English, Krista is fluent in Nepali and Newari and she is happy to work with clients who feel more comfortable speaking in these languages.
 

Krista's background and training

Krista has experience of working as a chartered counselling psychologist in a number of settings including in the: voluntary, private, and business sectors in GP practices, specialist psychology centres and the NHS. She has experience of working in both the UK and Nepal and with organisations that provide online platforms of therapy globally.

Krista has a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology from Glasgow Caledonian University and the University of Strathclyde and a Degree (hons) in Psychology from the University of Abertay Dundee. 

Krista is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS).

Krista's fee
