Cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

Cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), which aims to change thoughts and behaviours, can be very powerful in helping people with PTSD.

Our CBT therapists can help you learn to evaluate and replace any intrusive or negative automatic thoughts (e.g. about the traumatic event) and any impractical beliefs you have about yourself and your future that have developed as a result of the trauma you have experienced.

CBT can also help you understand how the way you think can affect the severity of your PTSD. Through CBT you can change how you think which can help you feel better and behave differently despite the trauma you have experienced.
